I'm New

"It's the people who make this church a wonderful place.  No one pretends to be perfect, everyone is open about their struggles, and all are accepted with open arms."

Welcome & What to expect on your first visit?

Greetings from our Sr. Pastor:  People make the church but God makes it home.  In these days when things seem to drag us down or tire us out, it is good to find a place where you can feel at home.  Here at LGCC we seek to have a place that is your spiritual home. All our deepest values are anchored in being the place where God is honored, people are cared for, and hope is proclaimed.

We try to do this by seeing others as fellow travelers through this life who need encouragement and help in times of challenge. That is, we seek to learn your name and how we can help you know the hope that we have in Jesus Christ.

So, if you have not done so already, check us out. First here on our website, but then come to one of our worship services. See for yourself if this could be your home too.

Blessings, Pastor Bill Moore

Worship with LGCC

While the vision of LGCC for worship is to be a church in which every generation encounters God in spirit-led worship, our ministry is first to the Lord, then to the people. Our goal is to turn “song time” into “worship time” blessing and ministering to God. We want people so excited about the Lord and the church that they are eager to join us on Sunday morning, get involved in serving, and bring their friends to church.

Every Sunday we offer our 8:45am Sanctuary Worship Service. On most first Sunday's of the month both services (8:45 and 10:00 am) are held in our historic sanctuary and are a place for meditation, contemplation and prayerful rest. You'll enjoy worship of the Lord with traditional hymns and contemporary music led by the worship leader. You will experience a softer presence of God in His sanctuary.

Other than the first Sunday of the month, our 10:00 am service is held in the Community House and is an informal, relational, expressive service with audio-visuals, dramas, hymns and contemporary music. At Long Grove Community Church we practice open communion. People are not required to be members of our fellowship to participate. We ask only that they know Jesus Christ as their personal savior.

Thursday Night Prayer Meetings are held every Thursday (except holidays) in the Community House from 7 to 8:00 pm. Everyone is welcome. We would love people from the community to know that they can come and be in God’s presence without the trappings or performance of religion. Please visit our Prayer Ministry page for more information.

We practice both Believer Baptism (twice a year) and Baby/Child Dedication (on request.)

After service please feel free to introduce yourself to any member of our ministry staff -- we would love to meet you! Join us for coffee and community after service in the Community House.

What do I wear?

No matter what our personal style is, we want you to feel comfortable at Long Grove Community Church.  If you prefer dressy, business, or casual attire, chances are there will be others dressed like you.

Legacy Kids Sunday School

Our vision for Children's Ministries is to partner with parents as we help kids connect with God in a life changing way as they discover how to have a relationship with Jesus Christ and actively live for Him. Our goal for Children's Ministries is to create a safe, fun, and engaging environment in which children can grow in their relationship with Jesus, hear God's Word, and learn to share His love with others in their communities. We are committed to providing a safe environment for your infants and children each week.  Each child is registered in a secured registration system. Every Sunday our children ages birth through 5th grade meet in the lower level of the Community House from 10:00am to 11:15am. Click here for more information about our Legacy Kids ministry. Children K-5th grade will sit with their parents for the first part of our worship service and then are dismissed to Sunday School. Our nursery (also located in the lower level of the Community House) is well-equipped and staffed. Both men’s and women’s restrooms on the lower level of the Community House are equipped with infant changing tables for family convenience.

EDGE (6th-12th grade students)

EDGE is our dynamic, energetic and community-based youth ministry for middle school and high school students to explore faith in Jesus Christ and how to fulfill His will for their lives.  Why EDGE? Students at this age are on the EDGE of entering into adulthood. They are also at the precipice of making decisions that will have an eternal and lifelong impact. It is our prayer that they will make that step of faith and embrace the journey God has for them.

Click here for more information about our EDGE student ministry.

What if I have special needs?

We have handicap parking spaces alongside both the Community House and the side of the Historic Sanctuary on the building side adjacent to the cemetery.  We have a handicap ramp both into the Historic Church Sanctuary and the Community House. Assistive Hearing Devices are available in both services/both buildings. If you require assistance please see one of our greeters/ushers you will find at the front door of the Historic Church Sanctuary prior to the 8:00am service and at the front door to the Community House prior to the 10:00am service.  If you have other special needs our greeters/ushers are happy to be a help.

If you have questions regarding our church please contact our office during regular business hours (847-634-3635).  We look forward to seeing you in one of our services. We ask that you silence your cell phone during the worship service.
