Vacation Bible School 2016

104 Children attended this year's VBS program (July 11-15, 2016), 9 children made a first-time decision to follow Jesus Christ and together we all praise the Lord.  The children were able to experience the Thrill of Visiting Ancient Egypt! Join Joseph as he swats away scorpions in a dark prison cell...stroll through the golden splendor of Pharaoh's palace... experience exotic sights and smells in an Egyptian bazaar...be carried away by music wafting through enticing desert air. A week of fun and lasting Bible learning. One True God - One Great adventure!

On Sunday, July 17 from 10-11:30am please join us as our VBS Children Lead Worship, and for the VBS Final Clean-Up.

Free Home Schooling Workshop

Saturday, August 6th, 9am to 11am in the Community House

Interested in homeschooling or curious about this growing trend?

This is a terrific opportunity to get answers to the most common

questions people have about homeschooling including:

  • How much does it cost to homeschool?
  • What does my child need to learn at each grade level?
  • What about college?
  • If you would like answers to these questions (and more!), this is the workshop for you! And it’s free!

Our presenter, Kathy Wentz, is a certified teacher who left the classroom and began homeschooling over 20 years ago. For over a decade she has been a popular speaker on a wide variety of homeschool and library related topics, running a variety of homeschooling email lists, and spearheaded the creation of the first ever Homeschool Resource

Center in a public library. Today, she is a much sought after educational consultant and private tutor.  Please SIGN UP HERE to attend this information workshop.  (Refreshments will be served.)

Walk through the Bible

Please join us for this brief Bible study held every Sunday at 9:00 am in Classroom B of the church building. For more information, please contact Dave Harrington, 847-722-3159.

Are you in need of prayer?

After each of the worship services, an elder or pastor will be available to pray with you. Also, if you would like to submit a prayer request for our Prayer Tree, please click here. Additionally, please join us every Sunday morning in Classroom A of the church building at 8:00 am to pray for our church.

Love INC current needs

People to come alongside others: They have indentified elderly and disabled who need help with simple tasks like light chores, grocery shopping and rides as well as connection and conversation with others.

People with home repair skills: They have requests from people for small home repairs, such as fixing a toilet, repairing damaged stairs, or checking for a hole in the roof.

Transportation Need: A blind mom from Round Lake needs help with transportation. She needs to get to the stores, kids activities and bible study. She would also love to attend church with someone.  This could involve many different individuals or a small group.

Direct Care Coordinator: Are you strategic, resourceful, and encouraging? If so you may be a great fit for our Direct Care Coordinator. This person works closely with the Clearinghouse Coordinator by following up on client intakes and verifying their information. You will also assist clients in identifying goals as well as assess their readiness for working with a mentor. Training is provided.

Mattresses: Queen and full size; clean and in good condition.

If you are interested in serving with Love INC, contact Jeanne McGowan via e-mail or at 847-469-8835, x 115.
