In today's world someone of the Islamic faith is probably already living by you, working with you or has children going to the same school as your children.  In an ever increasing stereotyping by our culture of both Christians and Muslims, the question is raised, "how do I, a Christian, relate to or speak to a Muslim when it comes to faith issues?"

LGCC wants to help cut through some of this stereotping by offering two opportunities to be better equipped in relation to the Muslim faith.

First, on May 22nd, we will have a guest speaker at our 10:00 am worship service.  Mr. Roy Oksnevad, a missionary to the Muslim people, will be sharing with us on this topic.  He will be preaching from the book of Jonah.

Second, we will begin a 6 week video series entitled "Journey to Jesus -- Building Christ-Centered Friendships with Muslims".  This series will begin on Tuesday, May 24th at 7 pm in the Community House. The series has been authored by Roy Oksnevad, our May 22nd speaker.

Please plan on taking advantage of both these opportunities.

Love INC current needs

People to come alongside others: They have indentified elderly and disabled who need help with simple tasks like light chores, grocery shopping and rides as well as connection and conversation with others.

People with home repair skills: They have requests from people for small home repairs, such as fixing a toilet, repairing damaged stairs, or checking for a hole in the roof.

Transportation Need: A blind mom from Round Lake needs help with transportation. She needs to get to the stores, kids activities and bible study. She would also love to attend church with someone.  This could involve many different individuals or a small group.

Direct Care Coordinator: Are you strategic, resourceful, and encouraging? If so you may be a great fit for our Direct Care Coordinator. This person works closely with the Clearinghouse Coordinator by following up on client intakes and verifying their information. You will also assist clients in identifying goals as well as assess their readiness for working with a mentor. Training is provided.

Mattresses: Queen and full size; clean and in good condition.

If you are interested in serving with Love INC, contact Jeanne McGowan via e-mail or at 847-469-8835, x 115.
