MEN'S FALL RETREAT

mens-retreatphotoWe hope you will be able to join us.  This is a great chance to get away and focus on what really matters it is also a great opportunity to cultivate some new friendships.

Q: WHEN & WHERE IS IT?
Answer:  November 3rd & 4th at Lakelawn Resort, starting at 7:15pm on Friday and ends at Mid-afternoon on Saturday (3pm).  Lakelawn Resort sits on beautiful Delavan Lake in Delavan, WI which includes a spa, fitness center, indoor pool, outdoor recreational activities and spacious rooms--4 beds in a loft room.  Saturday brunch is included in the fee.  You can find more information about the resort here: http://www.lakelawnresort.com/

Q: HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
Answer:  $75 includes one night lodging and use of pool and amenities at the resort.   Also covers meals on Saturday (brunch).  If you need some financial assistance or a payment plan we can help.   Let us know.   If you want to provide some extra funds for a scholarship or to bring someone who cannot see the value in paying for something like this---let us know.

Q: HOW DO I REGISTER?
Answer:  We are partnering with the CHAPEL in Mundelein for this retreat and they are handling registration so just click on this link and you can pay online with them:  Click here for Registration Link

Q:  CAN I CHOOSE MY ROOMMATES?
Answer:  Yes you can if you know ahead of time or have requests.  Sometimes we like to mix it up so you can meet new people but if you have a request we will try to grant that; if you have special sleep needs or need room assistance we can accommodate; if you need a single room we can provide that but it is at an extra cost. Please email Pastor Tony with this link for any of these requests.

Q: WHO IS OUR SPEAKER FOR THE WEEKEND?
Answer: Special Guest Speaker will be Mike Siri from the Relationship Center in Wauconda.  He has spoken at our Men’s Breakfast before and is truly a man of God.  There will also be some guest testimonies as well.

Q: CAN I INVITE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT ATTEND CHURCH?
Answer:  Yes that would be awesome!  The church is the only organization that primarily exists for its non-members.  Feel free to bring others who need the LORD – those who recognize their need and those who do not recognize it yet.

Q:  WHEN IS THE DEADLINE FOR REGISTRATION?
Answer:  We would ask that you register this WEEKEND if you can, or at the latest October 22nd, the earlier the better.  Can you bring someone last minute?  We would love for you to be able to do so, as the LORD leads; but it really helps us in planning if you could register early.  Rooming assignments are done early and there may be limited space.  Contact Pastor Tony for more details.

HURRICANE RELIEF

Hurricane HarveyAs we all have seen over the last couple of weeks, hurricanes have devastated both Texas and Florida.  I know that many of you have been asked for donations and even some of you  have gone down to help where you can.  Brant Morris, son-in-law of Long Grove Church’s Senior Pastor Bill Moore, is also trying to do what he can by sending items down to Houston, Texas through his company’s trucks.  Brant’s company will then shift their focus to Florida.  At this time, the items most needed are diapers and water.  But as the clean up continues, Brant has also stated the following…

If  you could, would you please shift your focus a little based upon what the people in Texas are asking for?  They have over 6,000 homes in the Katy area and over 50,000 homes in the greater Houston area that are flood damaged.  They now are in desperate need of clean-up and demo supplies.  Pastor Omar Garcia, Missions Pastor at Kingsland Baptist Church, has asked for the following…

1.  Cloth rags
2.  Contractor-grade, large, heavy-duty, black bags
3.  Dust masks N95

We will have a truck going to Houston each Monday for the next few weeks.  We may then shift our focus on to Florida.  I will be driving my trailer with the above mentioned supplies every week to Brant for transport.

Please ask your friends and neighbors to help, that we might bring glory to God in this effort.  Please call me at (847) 732-1683 if you have any questions or for additional information.  Thank you for reaching out and I thank God for your heart to serve those in need.

God bless you,
Michael F. Anderson

Love INC current needs

People to come alongside others: They have indentified elderly and disabled who need help with simple tasks like light chores, grocery shopping and rides as well as connection and conversation with others.

People with home repair skills: They have requests from people for small home repairs, such as fixing a toilet, repairing damaged stairs, or checking for a hole in the roof.

Transportation Need: A blind mom from Round Lake needs help with transportation. She needs to get to the stores, kids activities and bible study. She would also love to attend church with someone.  This could involve many different individuals or a small group.

Direct Care Coordinator: Are you strategic, resourceful, and encouraging? If so you may be a great fit for our Direct Care Coordinator. This person works closely with the Clearinghouse Coordinator by following up on client intakes and verifying their information. You will also assist clients in identifying goals as well as assess their readiness for working with a mentor. Training is provided.

Beds/Mattresses:

Having a good night's sleep helps kids perform better in school, stay healthier, and remain happier.

So many more kids in our local commuity need a bed. Your financial support would mean making this simple life's necessity availale to more families.  These beds are made with Love and each one is a blessing to a family in need.  Please consider contributing to this ministry for a local child today.

Would you prayerfully consider giving at one of these levels to build more beds for children right here in Lake County?
$65 Twin Bed
$130 Bunk Bed
$200 Volunteer Tool Kit
$500 Complete Bed with Mattress
